Southern Comfort

My (great) Uncle Roy drove in from Irving this weekend to see Nana. Between Riley's nap and our anniversary, we weren't going to be able to see him. I devised a plan so that we could...
Roy could bring Nana to our house Sunday morning to make his specialty, Biscuits and Gravy! Growing up, every time I went to Roy's house with Nana and Papa, he would make biscuits and gravy for us Sunday morning, before we headed home. I can't remember the last time I had it.
I've never made gravy--it's one of those things I've been afraid to try. It's probably a good thing that I don't treat myself to bacon grease, flour, and milk very often. When I think of biscuits and gravy, I think of Nana, Mom, and Roy--they'd be the experts as far as I'm concerned.

Bacon frying,

biscuits oven-ready,

add flour to bacon grease,

add milk and stir as it thickens,

and voila, there you have it.

Southern Comfort.

Right, Ray?? I've never been able to figure this one out about her and I've known her for 26 years!! She can eat a whole bucket full of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and I find whatever she doesn't gain.

I'm glad to know I am not the only one AFRAID of gravy....I swear the stuff is the hardest thing to make!
Love the post!

Um, so how exactly do you keep that girlish figure?
What a great way to see both Nana and Roy and have a wonderful breakfast!

Y'all. Gravy is SO easy. It's a staple at my house. You needn't know how to make it though or your boo-hineys will look like mine!! :)
