Fall is Coming!!??

I'm putting out the fall decorations today. Scarecrows, pumpkins, and leaves...now if the weather would just cooperate. Football has arrived, Christmas decor is out in full force at most retail locations, Starbucks has put out their Pumpkin Latte, etc. Now where is our fall weather?

Last week was a little teaser to make today's 90 degrees seem like we're back up to 103. It sure was nice leaving the house at 6:45 in the morning and not having to turn on the a.c.!!

Fall--I'm waiting....

In Rememberance

Today marks the 7th anniversary of what we know as 9-11. I could never actually write down all of the feelings that this day brings. I just wanted to remember a few things that came up today.

I was at work 9-11-01 when Tina called to tell me what happened. She knows that us teacher folk are in a little shell during the day, not exposed to t.v.'s radio, etc. Thank you Tina.

My class was about to go to P.E., so I was anxious to turn on the television and be updated. I told some friends at work (one of whom emailed me today to say that I will always have a place in her memory of this day because I was the first to tell her the news), worried about people I knew, people I didn't know.

I remember driving home that day--numb. I think we all were. Everything seemed different, still.

My classroom of children this year weren't even born when 9-11 happened.

As I was driving down MoPac today, I saw an beautiful, enormous American flag flying at half mast. It hit me hard at that point. In my shell here, at work today with 6 year olds, I felt removed. That flag brought me back to the reality of this day.

God Bless America!
God Bless Our Troops!
Amen!

Couldn't Resist

While I'm on the computer at my in-laws house, I had to post two cuties from last weekend at the ranch. I have lots more!

Breakdown

I'm having computer drama at home. I feel so disconnected. Hopefully very soon I have a fresh, new computer in our office. Wish me luck. I miss my blogger friends terribly.
