PJ Parade

I love pajamas. I love Riley's pajamas. I love him in his pajamas. He smells so good and is so snuggly in his pajamas. I could go on, but I'll let you see for yourself (too bad we don't have Smell-a-Vision).

New Adventure

It's no secret I love to cook. I love going through recipes, planning meals, making the grocery list, everything! I've decided to keep a blog of what I cook, sort of a food diary.

I named it No Onions. The title is SO me! I hate onions and omit them from every recipe. I might even like you a little less if you DO like them! :-)

3 Years

3 years ago today I gave birth to this tiny boy.

He made squeaky noises.
He slept all the time. Except at night.
He loved to be held.
He wore premie diapers.
He screamed during his baths.

Today he turned 3.

He doesn't want to take a nap or go to bed.
He loves to be held. For just a second or two.
He wears big boy underwear.
He splashes during his baths.
He loves to sing.
He loves to cook with Mommy.
He loves to play with Daddy.
He draws dinosaurs and hamburgers.
He thinks he is Spiderman.
He counts to 15.
He has so much to say.
He remembers EVERYTHING.

Happy Birthday, my son. I feel as if I've loved you for 100 years, not just 3 (and 9 months).

Tequila Sunrise

Well, really there was no tequila on my way to work this morning, but I did snap a few shots while at red lights and when I finally parked. I couldn't keep my eyes off of it!

Sunday Kind of Love

Had to share this one I snapped yesterday just before Riley said, "No pictures Mama!"

The Last Thing

Russ and I have decided to get moving. Running. The last thing in the world I would expect myself to do to keep fit. Dead last.

Well, I'm just home from my second "run." We're following a "walk three minutes, run one minute" (and repeat 6 times) plan. I even feel like I could've kept going this time. WATCH OUT! I do feel better than the first time though...I feel good (but you didn't hear me say that...I'm still not sure if I like this or not)!

Not sure if I would've made it without my iPod though. (I do get creeped out every once in a while and check behind me.) My favorite songs to run to so far are:

*PYT by Michael Jackson
*Love is a Battlefield by Pat Benetar
*What You Need by INXS
*Here it Goes Again by OK Go
*Lovers in Japan by Coldplay
*The Sweetest Girl by Wyclef Jean and Akon

I'm sure eventually I'll make a playlist for running/walking. So far, I just keep the tunes set on "random" and stop when I find something I like.

I hope I can stick to this! I admire all of the runner folks I know--maybe someday I'll be one too.

Soup and PJ Bunco

I've been hosting Bunco in January for as long as I can remember. I think I chose it because I absolutely love making soups. We don't have enough cold days around here to make it that often, so I take every chance I get. It isn't always cold on our January Bunco date, but this year a cold front was blowing in while everyone was here.

Another fun twist we added was to wear our pajamas. Not sure when this tradition started, but I love it!

This year I served Chicken Enchilada Soup and Tortellini Soup. As I expected, the Chicken Enchilada was the more popular soup this time.

For dessert I stopped by Cupprimo, a coffee and cupcake shop near where I work. The cupcakes are delicious and incredibly beautiful!

I love having them over--if only we did this more than once a year! Hmmmm...what to make next year?

o.l.d.

Saturday was my day to knock out all of our holiday exchanges and returns. I accomplished that...and also managed to make myself feel a little granny-ish.

A&F.
Need I say more? Ambercrobie and Fitch. You can smell it already, can't you? I think they must hire someone to walk around spraying their colognes like mad in there. Ick.

Anway, my brave mother ventured into A&F and bought Russ and I something for Christmas. She did well--we were both happy with her choices--until we tried them on and of course our normal size was way too tight (because we aren't 12).

I went in to just return the stuff-- Russ shouldn't need an XL in a shirt and I shouldn't feel like The Incredible Hulk in a medium! I saw Russ' shirt on sale and they had an XL. I started to call him to see if he wanted me to exchange or return, but I realized I couldn't even hear myself think. The music was so DANG loud we couldn't have had a conversation in there anyway. (By the way, I'm ALL FOR loud music).

While I was checking out, I had to intently stare at the girls lips, so I wouldn't miss a word (because I certainly couldn't HEAR her).

So, by the time I left, I felt like a fat, deaf granny. They must do that to keep us 30-somethings outta there. It worked--I'm not going back...except maybe to get a glimpse of the lovely men they have on their bags and posters.

Naked

Goodbye Christmas cards!

Goodbye Christmas tree!

Goodbye Papa's Nativity!

Goodbye Christmas lights!

It seems so empty without all of these Christmas-y things around. We're still working on getting them up into the attic, but for now, they're down, boxed, and ready for next year. Until then...
