Baby.....Ouch

Riley's new favorite song to sing EVERY night (he doesn't forget) is "Bringing Home a Baby Bumblebee." After we read his books and turn off the light, he looks at me with bright eyes and says, "Baby....ouch" and cups his hand together like the bee's in there.

We sing it....at least I try. I've forgotten the words (and this blog will remind me to look them up) and sing nightly:

I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee

Won't my Mommy be so proud of me

I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee

OUCH! He stung me!

I'm squishing up my baby bumblebee

Won't my Mommy be so proud of me

I'm squishing up my baby bumblebee

EWWW! I'm all messy!

I'm wiping off my baby bumblebee

Won't my Mommy be so proud of me

I'm wiping off my baby bumblebee

'Night 'night baby bumblebee (can you tell this is where I can't even fake an ending?)

And of course he wants to sing it again! He does all the hand motions and says OUCH after every verse, even if it doesn't make sense...who cares? Now I'm wondering if I really do need to know the "real" words. Maybe ours are better....

YES Sweet Little Mommy....

Your words and the words of your babies are ALWAYS much much better!

Thank you for sharing such a sweet Riley story. Makes me think I'm right there in the room with you two. I can see him doing every single itty bitty hand movement and smiling HUGE.

Love you - night.
